At our TESOL course in barcelona we endeavor do everything possible to ensure that you will have an enjoyable and rewarding time in the wonderful city of barcelona. Our TESOL course center here is home to a small and friendly team of staff which offers all course students a warm welcome and a wide variety of social and leisure activities. Our staff can arrange evening excursions to the tapas bars and cafes, sailing trips and other watersports activities, skiing (in winter), wine tasting and trips to many beautiful beaches.

We arrange a welcome dinner at the start of the TESOL course in barcelona to help you get to know the other students on your course at an early stage. If you stroll down the most famous street in Barcelona, the Ramblas (which leads right down to the sea) you will witness grand opera houses, beautiful churches, street artists and mimes, cafés and bars galore and of course great shopping at and around the market.

The centre piece of the Gothic Quarter is its fine cathedral. The Picasso Museum, which houses the best collection of Picasso’s work in spain is nearby.

Barcelona is justifiably also famous for its nightlife. It sometimes appears that every other building is a club, cafés or bar. Nightlife is Spain, and in Barcelona in particular, tends to start and finish late and dinner is usually served after 9pm. After dinner you can pick from a huge range of bars or cafes to continue your evening’s entertainment and those with plenty of stamina can then move onto the open-air nightclubs in the Tibidabo Hills amongst other options.

With all this to offer, Barcelona is a great place to take your TESOL course as well as having a great time outside of course hours. Whether you like beaches or mountains, art or history, cafes or nightclubs, Barcelona really does offer something for everyone.

The School

Our TESOL course training center located in new premises right in the center of the city. There are 3 metro lines within walking distance and regular day and night buses pass along the Paseo de San Juan.

The school is fully equipped with facilities including internet access, well-furnished classrooms and all the teaching materials, resources and facilities that you will need during your TESOL course.

We have teaching rooms of various sizes so that you will have the experience of teaching in different environments during the course.

Accommodation

Our TESOL center in Barcelona can arrange clean, comfortable and well-furnished accommodation for our course students in central Barcelona. We are happy to find accommodation options to suit your individual requirements and budget.

Accommodation in a SHARED FLAT with SINGLE ROOM = 207€/week

Enjoy the experience of sharing a flat with other students of different nationalities or local people. You have the freedom of cooking what you want and when you like. You can book a single room or a double if you are travelling with a fellow student.

A school representative will greet you at the shared flat upon arrival. The price includes a weekly cleaning service with change of sheets and towels.

The shared flats are located in the city centre and only a 10-20 minute journey from the school.

Accommodation in HOMESTAY with SINGLE ROOM

All our host families have been carefully chosen by our accommodation officer according to clearly defined quality standards, and are regularly checked.

Students will have a single furnished room and can choose either half board (breakfast & dinner) or just bed & breakfast.

Other specific requirements, such as special diets, can be requested on the registration form.

Reservations for accommodation with a host family in Barcelona are usually made from the first Saturday before the course starts and to the Saturday after the end of the course (extra nights can be reserved if required).

The total fee for the accommodation needs to be paid fully minimum 2 weeks before your arrival. For later enrolments the fees needs to be paid immediately.

  • What are my payment options?

    Course deposits must be paid to our administrative center. Credit/debit card payments are the fastest and cheapest way to pay, but we also accept payments via Western Union, Pay Pal and bank transfer. While there are no deadlines for a deposit, courses can fill up quickly and your seat will only be reserved after the deposit has been paid.

    Once you make your deposit, you will receive an email with an informational packet that provides detailed information about the course and Barcelona itself.

    The balance of course fees are payable on the first day of class and can be made with a credit/debit card, cash or travelers’ check.

    Course fees are all-inclusive so you won’t be asked to pay additional costs for course related materials or services. This also includes course moderation, accreditation fees and lifetime job assistance.

  • What are my accommodation options?

    Barcelona student accommodation consists of either a room in an apartment shared with your fellow trainees or an apartment shared with a Spanish or English speaking host. In both cases you will have your own private room and share all the communal facilities including the kitchen, washing machine for laundry and bathroom. All rooms are clean, comfortable, adequately furnished and are allocated on a first-come first-served basis. The cost of utilities is included. Sheets are also provided, however, you will need to bring a towel. All rooms are located within easy reach of various restaurants, bars and entertainment sites.

  • What travel documents will I need for spain?

  • What is the course schedule?

    From Monday to Friday, there are input sessions every morning from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. when trainees learn classroom management, grammar, language and culture and other practical aspects of the course. Lunch is from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. From 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. trainees prepare their lessons with the assistance of the instructors and then from either 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. they teach their lessons to Spanish students. These lessons are followed by immediate feedback from the instructors. You will not be teaching every afternoon, we aim to provide six to eight hours of observed teaching practice over the 4-week course. These lessons are taught from Monday to Thursday. On Friday, trainees are free after 12:30 p.m. and the weekend is also free. You are, however, encouraged to take your books with you to the beach so you can study over the weekend! In addition to these hours, there is also time that must be spent preparing materials and completing various assignments.

  • What can I expect during teaching practice?

    We use local Spanish students for the trainees’ teaching practice. Spanish students are very keen and enthusiastic and classes are usually a very positive experience.

  • Who usually attends the course?

    On average we have around ten to fifteen trainees enrolled on each course, although this does vary throughout the year. Most of the participants are American, British, Canadian or Australian, although we do accept non-native speakers of English who have a high proficiency in the language.

  • Is there a dress code?

    During trainees’ lessons, casual attire is allowed. During teaching practice, you will need to dress in trousers/skirts and closed-toe shoes. Men need collared shirts, while women need to wear conservative tops that will cover their shoulders. Men also need to shave or keep facial hair neatly trimmed. No visible tattoos or facial piercings are allowed while teaching local students.

  • What should I bring for course studies?

    Please be sure to arrive on the first day of the course with a notebook and a pen. We also encourage you to bring a laptop as we have Wi-Fi at the training center. We will provide all course materials for you so there is no need to bring anything else for the course itself.

  • What documents do I need for finding employment after the course?

    Of course, you need your passport. When you secure work you may also be asked to provide notarized copies of your birth certificate and college degrees. You might also consider obtaining an international driving permit if you intend to drive while in the country.
