TPR | Total Physical Response

A learning theory due to James Asher. Asher describes the fact that language appears to be a function of the left hemisphere of the brain. It was also noted that bodily movement was associated with the right hemisphere of the brain. Asher suggested that by combining the functions of both sides of the brain and using at the same time would enhance language learning. TPR is used successfully mainly with younger learners.
