A noun acts as the name of a specific object or objects, such as living things (woman), actions (swimming) , places (Rome), qualities (hardness), states of existence (peace), or ideas (socialism). There are many categories of nouns and students should try to learn some of these to avoid grammatical errors in their speaking and writing.
