Informal Assessment
Informal assessment refers to the various unstructured and non-standardized methods teachers use to evaluate students' learning progress and understanding on an ongoing basis. Unlike formal assessments, which involve standardized tests and exams, informal assessments are integrated into daily classroom activities and interactions. Examples include observation, class discussions, quizzes, oral presentations, peer reviews, and anecdotal records. Informal assessment helps teachers monitor student progress, provide immediate feedback, and adjust instruction to meet learners' needs. It encourages a supportive learning environment where students can demonstrate their skills and knowledge in a variety of ways.
