ICLE (International Corpus of Learner English)
The International Corpus of Learner English (ICLE) is a collection of written texts produced by learners of English from various mother tongue backgrounds. Compiled by researchers at the Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium, the ICLE is used to study the linguistic characteristics of learner language, including common errors and interlanguage features. The corpus provides valuable insights into second language acquisition and informs the development of teaching materials and methods. By analyzing ICLE data, educators can better understand the challenges learners face and tailor their instruction to address these needs.
