What is a level 5 TESOL certificate?
When it comes to picking the right TESOL course to suit your own situation and future plans, it helps to have a clear understanding of the different levels of qualifications that are available. A quick Google search will reveal that a level 3 course can be purchased at a very cheap price and it can be completed in a relatively short space of time. However, this level of study may not be good enough to satisfy the expectations of many employers. At the other end of the scale you will come across a Master's in TESOL which would clearly be a great qualification to have. On the downside, this level of study can take several years to complete and will require a high level of effort and financial input. Clearly a middle ground is the best place to start for many potential teachers who are looking to get started on their individual TESOL journey.

What is a level 5 TESOL?
When we talk about course levels it is important to realize that many individual countries and organizations have their own unique course-level frameworks that allow you to compare the different course options available. ITTT has a framework that currently runs from level 3 to level 7 that covers a wide variety of options suitable for almost any teacher, no matter what stage of their career they are at. We have two very popular course options at level 5, both of which will get your career off to a great start.
Our 170-hour TESOL course with online specialization has been specifically designed for anyone who plans to teach English online, either right from the start or at a later date. If you decide this is the best option for you, you will start your study with our standard 120-hour course. This initial study is completed online at any pace you prefer and it will cover everything you need to know as a first-time ESL teacher, such as classroom management, teaching methodologies, testing and evaluation, and a variety of English grammar topics. As soon as this section is complete you will move onto the second phase of the course which is the 50-hour course in teaching English online (CTEO). During this phase you will learn all about the specialist skills that are required when teaching in a virtual environment.
Our second level 5 TESOL course is the 220-hour Master Package. Choosing a course package is very popular as you get multiple courses at a discounted price. The Master Package comes with three separate courses that cover a wide range of ESL teaching environments. Once again, you will start your study with the initial 120-hour certification course to ensure you have a solid foundation of knowledge to build on. At the end of this phase you get to choose which of the remaining two courses you tackle next. You can work through the two 50-hour specialized courses in teaching business English and teaching English to young learners in any order you prefer. By adding these two courses to your initial study you will develop a broad understanding of ESL teaching that will make you a very popular candidate when applying for teaching jobs in countries worldwide.
