Phonetics and TESOL Phonetics, the study of the sounds of human speech, and in particular “Articulatory Phonetics”, are not commonly taught to native speakers of English, let alone learners of English as a second language. Pronunciation Problems for Chinese Students of English As a global language, English has been popularly taught as the second language in China for quite a few years.
