There is such a tremendous amount of marked regional diversity in Spain that one is almost dealing with a mini continent. The pharaonic civilization goes back five thousand years, this was followed by the Greek invasion, spearheaded by Alexander the Great, and later it was regarded as one of the richest provinces of the Roman empire, and breadbasket to Rome itself.
