This unit is all about the present tense. The present tense has four different aspects, those are present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous.
The usages of present simple tense are in speaking for routines, facts, newspaper headlines, commentaries, present stories and historical sequences.
The usages of present continuous tense are in speaking of an action in progress at the time of speaking, emphasize very frequent actions, developing situations and to refer to a regular action around a point of time.
The usages of present perfect tense are to talk about completed tasks that happened at an indefinite time, completed past actions carried out in an unfinished time period at the time of speaking, something which began in the past and is still true now at the time of speaking, past actions with present results.
The usage of present perfect continuous tense are to talk about an incomplete and ongoing activity when we want to say how long has continued or to describe recently finished, uninterrupted activity which has a present result.
