There are various English language teaching methodologies yet the most appropriate method for a new teach or trainee is to Engage, Study, and Active. For each of the 3 ESA stages there are various techniques the teacher can employ in-class, but each technique must accommodate the language level ability of the students. The Engage stage is to get the students interested in the pending learning. The Study stage is to teach/inform the student of the key learning point through minimal lecture, exercises and feedback. The Activate stage is to have the students freely communicate in English through a group activity that perforces the students to practice the key learning point. The teach should be aware of when to correct student mistakes or errors, especially during the study stage, but the teacher should first prompt the student to correct himself or have other students correct other students.
