This Unit reflects on Past Tense. Past tense can be Past Simple, Past Continuous, Past Perfect or Past Perfect Continuous. In general, Past Perfect and Past Perfect Continuous have very limited usage.
Past Simple indicates that an action is completed in the past. Sub+verb(past participle)
Past Continuous indicates that an action is in progress at a certain point in the past. Sub+was/were+verb+ing
Past Perfect indicates a past action and related past action before that. Sub+had+verb(past participle)
Past Perfect Continuous indicates continuing action in the past up until an action is the past. Sub+had+been+verb+ing
The teacher can use activity charts to help students make sentences for Past Tense. This will increase student talk time and better understanding of the past tense.
