This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This is probably the most difficult unit thus far. It was difficult to see the application of the contents, but after carefully examining the guidelines, rules and examples it became clear.
The modal auxiliary verbs comes naturally as they form part of every day English. Conveying a sentence in a certain way, of which there are several different undertones of meaning, is difficult to master but will come naturally once a learner is familiar and confident with the use of auxiliary verbs.
Passive and active voice also face some challenges as transforming a sentence to one voice or the other may not be that straight forward.
Personally, the relative clauses and phrasal verbs sections need some attention, as they are completely new to me. The guidelines/rules to differentiate between the categories aren't very clear which made it difficult to understand. I would feel more comfortable to teach these sections once I feel that I understand to a certain extent.
