This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covers conditionals and reported speech. Conditionals are probably one of the most difficult aspects of English to learn; I had never really separated them out that far (zero, first, second, etc) but they are definitely all different. I can't see any content in this unit being taught much before high school, perhaps the basics of both. Reported speech is especially dicey, and I'm not sure how much I would go into it because I think conversationally reported speech doesn't usually follow all of the rules stated here. Maybe the best way to learn would be through reading. I kept thinking that using dialogue in short passages would be ideal to point out the differences between active and reported speech.
