I think the instructor did a marvelous job of showing us the teacher from hell (I've actually seen teachers not that far from this) to demonstrating clearly how to use ESA in an effective and engaging manner. He also shows us the balance between being engaging and friendly without going over the top and playing the comic, which I have to confess I'm sometimes guilty of.
The proof is in the pudding as it were and the second video shows how to use ESA as the skeletal structure. Obviously our students respond to us because of our warmth and encouragement, not because of our method, which is subliminal anyway. The man shows that he likes the students and wants them to do well. He glosses over mistakes in a way that we all should. Likable teachers make us enjoy learning. Heck, I even enjoyed the second lesson!
