I learned about appropriate methodology for teaching English as an additional language. I learned what types of information and activities should be introduced at each stage of a lesson (engage, study and activate) and how different lessons can be built depending on how we arrange the sub parts of each lesson. Many ideas were also provided for activities to include in each stage of a lesson. I also appreciated reading about how and when to correct students in EAL classes (e.g.correct more in study-based activities compared to fluency-based activities).One of the most important things I learned was not to interrupt a student to correct them, always wait until the student has finished the sentence.
