Unit Ten showed what not to do and what to do in a classroom setting. The first Video was almost painful to watch because the teacher was so disconnected from his students. He had very little rapport with his students and practically omitted the engagement stage. Instead he spoke about grammatical concepts which were obviously beyond the student's ability to comprehend. The fact that the teacher did not smile during the first session did not help either. Fortunately Mark turned things around in the second session by engaging the students at the level they were at and had a positive friendly attitude. In the second session he also centered the class around the students which was evident because everyone in the class seemed happily engaged and learning.
