This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covers types of special groups that a teacher may encounter when teaching English as a second language. We learn that each special group has its own challenges and that teachers must adapt lessons and teaching style to each special groups' needs and expectations-- we will not teach a class of young learners in the same style that we will teach an individual student, nor will we teach a business class in the same way that we would teach a class of young learners. Understanding the needs of students depending on their group and their reasons for learning English is vital in providing lessons that suit the requirements of students.
