This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This lesson introduced the terms \"Receptive Skills\" and \"Productive Skills.\" The focus is on receptive skills. Receptive skills are reading and listening. Both are of equal importance, but reading skills allow for more time and repetition, making them easier. Listening skills can be more difficult because meanings must be gleamed immediately. The unit gives standards on how to choose what to teach. Topics should be interesting and presented at the appropriate level. Considerations must be made for pre-knowledge of the topics and reason for reading. Are they focusing on skimming skills, scanning skills, reading for fun or reading for purpose. These are all considerations in the planning phase. Then a reading sample and sample questions/worksheets were provided.
