The emphasis on writing was especially informative. I have taught writing for many years, and I enjoyed the new approach: concentrating on actual letter-formation and punctuation. (I pictured my would-be, feeble attempts at producing Chinese characters!)
The speaking vs. writing theories were very interesting: not having the luxury of time to plan what to say, as opposed to writing. These are things we take for granted.
I find the sequencing of class activities easier to figure out now. It is similar to teaching disabled students, and, yet, quite different in its specific objectives. Incorporating what I know and what is new, is exciting!
