This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
The lesson explains the verbal and nonverbal behaviors that help a teacher to communicate with the students and maintain control and balance in the classroom. The unit describes the most appropriate time for eye contact, gestures, group pairing, and certain body language. I feel that I have learned that even the smallest detail is important in the way the students receive the teacher. For example, if the teacher is late, does not make eye contact, and never uses a student's name, then the class will likely not have respect for the teacher. Many disruptive behaviors can be avoided if the teacher stays consistent and puts in an effort to make every student feel involved.
