This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Whenever I am selecting vocabulary to teach to my classes, I oftentimes tend to underestimate the students' capacity to absorb information and end up teaching them words that are too easy for their respective levels. In this unit, I have learned about how to properly select vocabulary, most especially in the aspect of frequency and coverage. I think this is a brilliant way of selecting vocabulary since the words are already frequently used by native English speakers and the students would therefore come across the words more often in the future. If the students retained more useful words, then that would help them communicate themselves better, instead of teaching them words that they won't be able to utilize very often in real life circumstances.
