This unit was about teaching the sounds of the words. Breaking down the word into how they are sounded out. As well as the stress that is placed on which syllables and which words and why. Because, the same sentence can be interpreted differently depending on where the stress is placed. Along with this is the intonation of the sentence, meaning basically how it flows. Whether it rises then falls, or falls then rises and what that implies. These are the type of things native English speakers don't notice. However, there is more that is being said in a sentence than just the words. These implications and sound meanings also need to be taught.
