Modal verbs can be used to express a number of different ideas for example obligation,possibility/probability,permission/prohibition,ability, and advice. It should be noted that modal verbs can also be used to express different degrees of formality. Modal verbs are followed by a verb in its base form. This applies for both present and future meanings. We have two voices in English that is the passive and active voices. It should be noted that for both passive and active voices the tense of the sentence always remains the same. Passive is mostly used when it is not known or not important, or we don?t want to say exactly who performs the action. It should also be noted that there are 3 categories of clauses, the independent, dependent and relative clauses
