This unit covered the topics of Conditionals and Reported Speech.
There are 5 main Conditionals. The zero conditional is used to convey facts; the first conditional conveys a real situation in the future possible if a certain condition is met; the second conditional is used to express a hypothetical future consequence based on a condition unlikely to be true; the third conditional a hypothetical past consequence based on a hypothetical past condition; finally the mixed conditional expresses a present possible consequence based on a hypothetical past condition.
Reported (Indirect) speech is used to report something that has happened in the past. Converting a sentence in the direect speech form to the reported speech form is based on some rules of back shifting of words.
