In this unit we learn how to teach productive skills (writing and speaking). These two skills differ in many ways but, we use them for the same purpose to communicate. When teaching a communicative activity to students the teacher must create the need and desire to communicate and to listen. When teaching writing and speaking it is always important to remember that we use both skills in a different way, we don?t speak exactly as we write. When writing we tend to write more formally and when we speak it is usually more informal.
In this unit I have learnt the importance of games while teaching productive skills as well as the need to make the content interesting and appealing to the students. I have also learnt that accuracy and fluency occurs during different stages of a lesson and that it is important that the student understand and use language in a controlled manner before using it in a creative way.
