This unit has shown the different types of tests that exist for evaluation.
There are several reason of evaluation of a student: to know in which group to place him/her before a course begins according to their lever of English (Placement tests), to see how they progress and what language they've learnt and still needs work (progess tests), for the teacher to know the level of his/her students in order to prepare accordingly (diagnostic tests) and for preparing the students to external examination they might take (practice tests).
I have also learnt about different external examinations and their purposes (such as TOEFL or the Cambridge Assessment Examinations to name some of them).
