This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit taught us about pronunciation and phonology, pronunciation being the use of a rise and fall of the intonation, and emphasis of the voice and also the use of stressing certain words, and therefore syllables within those words to help to express the meaning of the sentence, it also illustrated the use of sound joining and linked speech. Phonology explained the use of phonemic symbols that are used to aid pronunciation, as well as how words are formed through articulation. I have learnt the phonemic symbols, and how to analyse how we speak and pronounce words, a method that I have taken for granted before, as a native English speaker.
