This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit on pronunciation and phonology was enjoyable. Having taught kindergartners, I know the importance of teaching the student to use intonation and stress rather than a monotone reading of each word. It enhances the enjoyment and understanding of the reader and hearer.
I had not received training on the articulation. That will help with students who have difficulty producing the correct enunciation when they understand in what part of the mouth the sound is made. And, working with the international phonemic symbols help with words that are pronounced differently, but have the same sound.
The video of the classroom having a phonic class was helpful. It gave examples of how to flow from one phase to another so easily, it almost seems like one whole lesson rather than several phases.
