This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit dealt with the intricacies of pronunciation, phonetics and phonology. It gave a detailed description of the various ways of differentiating between individual sounds as well as stress and intonation and articulation. It was a very detailed unit, especially the part about phonetics. I did enjoy learning about the different parts of the mouth and throat, and how they contribute to sound formation. Although I did retain a lot of information on the different formation of vowels and consonants, this is one unit I will be sure to go over again in order to become more proficient in the phonemic symbols.
