Unit Three went in depth into methods and techniques for teaching class. Within this lesson, methodologies such as Grammar-Translation, Audio-Lingualism, and Task-Based Learning were covered, to name a few; and the ESA (Engage, Study, Activate) lesson plan was covered, including various activities and ideas that can be used in the classroom during each part of the lesson. Additionally, from this lesson I learned that the aim of feedback is to encourage self-awareness and improvement, and I learned when to give feedback during a lesson. I learned that there is a difference between mistakes and errors, and I learned about who corrects a student, what should be corrected, and that a teacher should always wait until a student is finished speaking to correct him or her. The teacher should also only correct the student as a last resort, letting either the student or another student provide corrections instead whenever possible.
