Unit 17 introduces us to the use of equipment and teaching aides in the classroom. Each type of equipment had its advantages and draw backs. Although one of the disadvantages of the white board is that the teacher has his/her back to the class, I think it is the best since the board can be sectioned off and the student can see the progression of the lesson. I have had experience with the IWB, and I find it very difficult. Visual aides and worksheets are essential and should be a regular part of all lessons. The introduction of YouTube surprised me because I hadn't thought of it as a teaching aide, but it's a wonderful idea. YouTube is also a tool for students to use when they are on their own, not in class. Similarly, the online lessons and learning materials listed here are places where students could visit on their own or be used as homework.
