This unit focused on the importance of course books and course material. When I was learning a foreign language my course book and workbook were very helpful in terms of committing the language and forms to memory. This unit also talked about the importance of mixing together both authentic and creative materials. Authentic materials allow students to experience everyday use of the language and helps with their confidence. Creative materials allow for the students to learn new aspects of the language in a fun way. It also allows for the teacher to focus the assignment on a specific topic or lesson.
