The two videos showed explicit examples of what actions to avoid and carry out during a lesson. As I sat before my screen, watching the first video was a bit painful. The teacher continues to claim how ?easy? the auxiliary verbs were and that ?anyone? could provide an example. I tried to imagine how the students felt at that moment and it definitely was not pleasant. This is a reminder to always rethink words before speaking before one?s students for a simple term may cause a drastic effect. Keeping that in mind, the second video was a good example of a straight arrow ESA lesson. Engaging the students definitely made an obvious difference during the beginning. The students felt welcomed and sensed the sincerity from their teacher. They were able to comfortably participate and did not worry about answering incorrectly since the teacher would not reprimand for incorrect answers.
