Both videos show differences between students' understanding and participation in the lesson. In order to build rapport with the students, teacher should introduce himself or herself and get to know the students' names and gradually their background. There are technical terms (words like modal auxiliary verbs) in English which only the teachers know about it and usually students do not know it. Thus, to get the students to quote examples relating to the technical terms will intimidate and confuse them. However, seemingly for basic English class, miming will be a good method to help to illustrate certain concept. In order to achieve certain objectives, correction by teacher and amendment by student is needed. Straight Arrow method should be employed in such basic lesson.
