This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit focuses on a teacher's skill of organizing the class, the students and the activities that take place in that class. It explains how a teacher can use eye contact, his voice and different gestures to make the learning process more effective. Different grouping options and classroom arrangements are explored in terms of their advantages and disadvantages. Finally, other aspects of classroom management are described such as how the teacher can minimize 'dead time' when writing on the board, pay individual attention to students, reduce teacher talking time, give effective instructions, build good rapport and maintain discipline within the classroom. Part of the content was 'logical' and I was familiar with it due to life experience, yet it was a good organized explanation and I gained some perspective.
