In classroom management, for a class to learn effectively, the teacher must be able to inspire confidence in the students. Teachers must know when to be firm to the students, when to be easy and leave them alone. Being flexible is almost the key factor to be a good teacher in classroom management.
Good understanding of students and establishing good rapport coupled with the skill in organising and managing the class would deem as half the battle won.
By and large, being mindful of the do's and don't...to name a few, eye contact, gesture and the voice, grouping of students, classroom arrangement, giving instructions and maintaining discipline.
In summary, if a teacher is able to put together the soft skills and management skills, chances are the students will be motivated and the classes will be enjoyable too.
