I am used to thinking about the four skill areas; however, it is nice to see them broken down into different parts, and to have more detailed knowledge presented about each part. The terms \"authentic\" and \"non-authentic\" are new to me, but relate to what my previous academy (employer) practiced. We used novels (authentic) for some middle school students, yet condensed texts (non-authentic) for older elementary students. One activity that we used before in the Activate phase was to have students rewrite the ending of a story or novel, something that most students got interested in and were quite creative in doing.
