The two video lessons were totally different in how the teacher taught the students regarding behaviour, response, mood, etc. Everything was better in the second video. Both the teacher and the students? attitudes were better, happy and active. The students changed from flabbergasted to very responsive, the teacher?s voice changed to varied, clear and open, he monitored the students, called them by name and used a variety of actions to show them what he was teaching. He used a straight ESA structured lesson with an animal name game, pictures and mine in the Engage stage, he used two exercises with drilling and pronunciation in the Study phase and in the Activation part he had them make-up/create, draw and explain their own animals in pairs. He could have used more visual aids like videos or even realia in the Engage stage, he could have given more example sentences and better pronunciation exercises in the Study phase and Role=play in the Activation part of the lesson.
