In this unit I learned about the various equipment and teaching aids available to me as an English language teacher. I learned that despite being in the age of technology, things like DVDs or CALL should be used sparingly, and always with a specific purpose. From my time teaching in Japan where in many schools all I had to work with was a copy machine and a blackboard, I know that even with minimal technology, English education can still be very effective. I also found a number of the links very helpful in the chapter, and have bookmarked several. I can find many TEFL resources online to cut down on time spent lesson planning myself.
