This unit covers the topic of teaching productive skills which are the speaking and writing skills of the students. These skills are essential to be able to communicate. To get the students to participate actively in speaking and writing exercises, it is important to create the need and desire in the students to communicate. This can be achieved by selecting interesting topics to talk and write about, by creating a comfortable atmosphere in the classroom and by avoiding culturally sensitive topics. I liked, that this unit gives helpful guidelines on how to structure a lesson and examples of fun games to play with the students.
