This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit, we discussed lesson planning. The importance and uses of lesson planning were discussed as well some disadvantages (lessons can become too rigid if teachers stick too strictly to lesson plans). Examples were given of lesson plans using the ESA method as a framework. I found the test a bit difficult since I wasn't sure what level the hypothetical students are. For instance, with beginners, I wouldn't use a discussion in the engage phase, but with more advanced students I would. It's also not clear whether the hypothetical students already know the word zoo (I had to assume they do). The accuracy of the questions was, therefore, a problem for me.
