After watching the videos, I would rather be in class two than class one. In class one, the attitude of the teacher was not encouraging, his mode of delivery was poor, he was not interested in the lesson and the students were afraid to express themselves. In contrast, class two was lively and interesting as the teacher was very encouraging and the lesson was well structured. There were variations in the teacher?s voice, this kept the class engaged throughout the lesson. The engage stage was lacking in class one but was evident in class two. The engage stage is an effective way to involve all students in a lesson and to keep them thinking. The study stage was a success as the teacher effectively uses his elicitation methods. The activate stage was more effective in class two but I believe it could have been more interesting if one partner had spoken about what their animal can do and the other partner spoke about what their animal cannot do.
