This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
The aim to learn a new leanguage is to be able enough to communicate to a foreigner one day, in order to express ideas, opinions, to ask for something and even for an aid.
For this reson, if the learners are motivated, interested and confident, the teachers have to improve their productive skills, i.e. speaking and learning.
Speaking is determinated by the fluency and the accurancy. Activities to improve the fluency are: debates, discussions, communication gap, simulations, free role-play. While the accurancy may be trained by guided activities, like the drilling ones, that are based on the repetition of the words.
Writing depends on the spelling of the words and it is characterized by the punctuation.
English appears difficult because it is not a phonetic language (many words are written the same but pronounced differently or the contrary) so that, teachers have to exercise their students by extensive readings and creative writting works.
