This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 4's in-depth look at present tenses not only solidified previous knowledge of grammar and its rules, but also gave me the means to successfully provide others with a base understanding of the English tense system. Although I have been writing, speaking, and reading in English my whole life, this unit helped me to understand the workings of the tense system in a more useful way. The detailed explanation of each tense and its form, usage, and exceptions is very important when working to become fluent. Throughout the unit I found myself focusing largely on each tenses form, opposed to usage and exceptions. Form is important to understand as it incorporates other aspects of the English language by requiring you to use parts of speech when constructing sentences. Form is also very important to understand because it gives you the ability to be able to identify what tense you are dealing with in the most straight-forward way.
