Unit 17 discussed the assorted forms of equipment and teaching aids potentially available to ESL teachers in the classroom and in lesson planning. These include: white/black boards, IWBs, OHPs, visual aids, worksheets and work cards, cassettes and CDs, videos and DVDs, video cameras, dictionaries (which are the most useful and necessary for students), textbooks, resource books, photocopiers, computers, and other online resources. This unit discussed each in detail, including the benefits and drawbacks and appropriate ways to use each. I was surprised to learn there were so many online resources that are free, as well as the freedom to photocopy content in many of the resource books.
