From this unit I have learnt there are four skills of language: receptive skills - reading and listening, and productive skills - speaking and writing. They are all equally important. There are two main reasons for reading and listening, one is purpose, the other is entertainment. So when we are prepare a lesson related to this two kind of skills, we should be careful of how we choose topics and the tasks that go with them. If the students are not interested in the topics, we can let the students to discuss the topic, predict the text will be about. This will be helpful for getting the students motivated and engaged in the class.
