This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit was a great review of the parts of speech that comprise the English language. This unit covers all the basics such as nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs, gerunds, pronouns, and prepositions/conjunctions. This unit was a refresher for the parts of speech that I have learned in the past. I enjoyed this unit because it reminded me of how important parts of speech are and that I should not neglect these topics when teaching my ESL classes. I agree with the beginning of the chapter where it states that native English speakers usually use perfect grammar in everyday speech without knowing what we are using or why we are using it. This unit is essential reading for ESL teachers because understanding parts of speech of the English language is an important part of teaching ESL.
