In this unit, I learned how to manage classes calmly and professionally. I learned that the grouping of the students and the seating plan can have an effect on the class, and should be determined by factors such as space, number of students, etc. I learned that it is important to build rapport between myself and my students.By building a good rapport, I create a relaxed and friendly environment for my students to learn in. I learned ways in which to prevent bad behaviour, and how to deal with it if it does crop up. I learned that less is more when it comes to discipline, as it is possible to be over the top with rules.Furthermore, I learned the appropriate use of gestures, and how to reduce teacher talk time in favour of student talk time.
