This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit delves further into the complexities of English grammar and talks about modals, phrasal verbs, and passive voice. I have never been taught these concepts in a classroom. They make sense when I read them in a sentence, but their ideas are quite complicated to get a hold of when I just speak while using them naturally. The part that I would focus most on for English students in an advanced lesson would be on modals. They are very important words to the language and it is impossible to get by without having them as part of your vocabulary and properly understanding their various usages. They are especially important in expressing certainty and uncertainty as well as polite and informal requests. Being able to politely request things is essential for the English language learner as when they travel they will want to be able to speak with the correct degree of formality with those who they must interact with.
