I find it difficult to understand the purpose of a lesson and that there is really only one way to give the lesson with test questions such as these. I think I would have created a lesson where students were also given the topic vs. a study section. I think putting students into small groups to try and understand a new topic without teaching them any part of it first may create confusion. I can see the point of this while trying to solve a word problem but when learning a tense I am not sure I agree that this is a useful method. I do think this lesson gave good feedback on the layout you would want the final exam in.
